About this Cook
I am 30, recently married to a "used to be vegan." My homemade meatballs and sauce did my husband in. Since the wedding he has gained 25 pounds and blames my cooking. I am from a very large Italian, Greek and Lebanese family- needless to say, everything we do revolves around food, I do not know how to make a meal for two.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Italian food although I do not have many recipes. I more or less just throw things together from having watched my mom and grandma Joanie. I love to bake cookies, cakes, brownies-anything sweet. My oatmeal raisin cookies are the best.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday Dinner at my parents. Coming from a big family, my parents house was always full of lots of people. It was known as Grande Central Station, if you were in the house when dinner was being served, you weren't going anywhere. Any and all were welcome. Every Sunday growing up and to this day, at 2:00 in the afternoon, homemade Sauce and Meatballs are served with a big Greek Salad, fresh Garlic Rolls and often for dessert, my mom's famous Apple Crisp. Being 1200 miles from my family-I often have my own Sunday Meatball Dinner (although it is just the two of us, we end up eating meatballs for an entire week)!
My cooking triumphs
I have many- nothing fancy or worth writing home about but I do love to entertain. I think it is great being a young couple and getting together with other young couples, sharing a great meal and some wine. And in our house, there is always enough left overs to send everyone home with food for later-that is important.
My cooking tragedies
The worst "broiled" flanked steak that I was serving to my in-laws. I did not think that my father in-law was ever going to stop chewing.

Vanilla Ice Cream V
So easy! A tad flat in the flavor department but overall great consistency and again, so easy!

Makhani Chicken (Indian Butter Chicken)
Very good! This recipe makes a ton of sauce so I always make more chicken. A little time consuming but worth the effort- I let the chicken marinate in step two ingredients overnight.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread
I did not think that I liked pumpkin things but this was so good!!! I did add double the spices as others had suggested but changed nothing else and it was perfect. Thanks for a great bread recipe.
