About this Cook
I'm 22 years old currently in school full time and working. On my free time I like staying active (gym, rollerblading, dancing), cooking, reading new books, and cooking of course. I dream of one day having a career in the culinary fields, but I'm unsure what that perfect career will be. To date I'm in BBA in Accounting degree and will see where that road takes me!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook and to see new recipes out there. I wish I had all the time in the world because I would be cooking 24-7!! My sweet tooth demands a lot of cookies and cakes, but for the most part I stay healthy and like cooking Indian, Mediteranean, and Asian dishes. I also like staying seasonal and get many inspirations from the fresh, colorful fruits and vegetables.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom has been cooking ever since I can remember. She is from Japan so as you know food presentation and meticulous planning is a must. I love spending time in the kitchen with her preparing things like gyoza, omochi (sticky rice balls)and sushi to name a few...the longest running family tradition is having the same sponge cake for every birthday for all the family members. My mom must of made that cake over 200 times!

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies
wow, I just made these cookies and I'm eating one right now as I speak. They are sooo good! I didn't use one ounce of white sugar, but instead used mostly brown sugar and a few tablespoons of sweet n low. Make sure you mix the dough till you can barely move the spoon around so it's easier to spoon before the baking sheet. I made 12 big PB cookies and they actually ended up forming together (oops!) next time I'll make sure to use two trays rather than one. They are the perfect texture. Nice and chewy and soft. Yumm-O!

Bananas Foster II
this was incredibly good! I kind of eye-balled all the ingredients, but it turned out excellent. I put a little too much rum in it, but I think everyone was pretty forgiving ;)

Golden Sweet Cornbread
I thought the taste was just perfect..I like how there isn't too much oil used, but they still turn out really moist. I made them into muffins, and had them on 400 in the oven, but then turned it down to 350 for the last 5 mins or so. I wish I would of lightly sprayed inside of the cupcake papers because the sides of the cornmeal did stick a little.
