About this Cook
Hubby and I always had the agreement that the first one home made the dinner. After a lifetime of making sure I was always home after him, I retired in 2003 and it all caught up to me. I am fortunate because he is an excellent cook and taught me as soon as we came home from our honeymoon many years ago. Having a lot more time to devote to cooking and baking, it is my desire to keep improving. Our modest vegetable garden affords me the opportunity of growing fresh veggies in the summer and canning a lot for winter use.
My favorite things to cook
Since I am Italian/American, I love to cook anything Italian. Most of my recipes are authentic from my Mother and Grandmother. Actually, I like cooking anything and Hubby is a great guinea pig and will try whatever i prepare.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We enjoy the Christmas tradition of making cookies and preparing for all the major holidays.
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I prepare food and someone tells me it's excellent.
My cooking tragedies
Most of my tragedies happen when I'm not paying attention to what I am doing and forget to add a major ingredient, like sugar or baking powder, to a recipe.

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup
Just made this for dinner last night. i followed the recipe exactly as written. Used butter (notice the difference between ingredients and directions). The only change i made was I used a hand mixer to puree it instead of a food processor. It was delicious and hubby said the recipe was a keeper. Thanks for sharing.

Melt In Your Mouth Blueberry Cake
I followed the directions exactly for the cake. The only change I made was to double the recipe because I wanted to make it in a bundt pan. I used a 12 cup bundt pan, anything smaller and the cake will overflow. it was a delicious and thanks for sharing.
