The fact that I have Celiac disease has made me into a more creative person, I think. I'm in the predicament where food is my medicine so I research, research, research, then read some more! What I put into my body is definitely what I get out and I love to share my successes with anyone willing to try them.
My favorite things to cook
I love nothing more than a big plate of organic mixed greens with a good vinaigrette and slices of aged cheese, washed down with a glass of dry wine...wow, doesn't that make me sound snooty?! hee hee...
I love that stuff but I also like rich comfort food and spicy ethnic dishes.
And pie...mmmm pie.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm pretty well self taught, except for how my ex boyfriend tought me how to make perfect rice and also macaroni and cheese.
btw, if you happen to see this: Thank You:)
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph has been getting to know the different viscosities of various gluten-free flours so now I can pretty much make anything I want and have it turn out. I'd like to write a cookbook or open a restaurant someday and share everything I know. Food that looks and tastes good and doesn't cost an arm and a leg makes me very happy.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to mention. That's the price you pay for wisdom;)
