About this Cook
I love food! As im writing this, I'm waiting for my Buttermilk Honey Wheat bread to finish baking and BAM it hits again me like a sack of market potatoes, I'm in love with food! This happens a few times a week, after all I cook all of my food from scratch and love doing it.
My favorite things to cook
Casseroles, gratins, roast meat, mexican, hearty stews and savory soups, pastries, cookies, pies and bread.... I love it all! I make all of my bread by hand. There simply is nothing like kneading a warm lump of sticky, carby goodness into a smooth ball with your bear hands.
My favorite family cooking traditions
On Christmas eve, my family - all 10 of us plus our spouses and kids - enjoy a huge spread of dips, cheese, vegetables, meats and seafood for a tasty, all night, oil fondue. This meal is a tradition that has been apart of our lives ever since I was a little girl. There isn't much to it, the most complex part would be making the beer batter but we all love it and look forward to it during the year.
My cooking triumphs
I held a small dinner party for some family and close friends. I made all of the food myself, candies, dessert, appetizers and a main course of roasted ham and a few side dishes. The food was delicious! I moved the dinning table into the living room in front of a lit fire, it was very romantic. My guests were thrilled and we had such a wonderful time.
My cooking tragedies
Many brick-hard loaves of bread and meals that get tossed instead of used the next day.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf
this was soooo good! i would have given it 4.5 stars if i could. i did like the others suggested and added 2 teaspoons of worcestershire sauce. the taste was perfect! the meat was delish, the ONLY thing i didnt like was that there wasnt enough sauce. my husband said to put this on the menu so next time i make it ill double the brown sugar and katchup (and worcestershire sauce). thanks for a really great recipe, im sure this will be one that my own kids will ask for when they are all grown up :)
