I'm a stay-at-home mama to two beautiful children. I have a wonderful husband who I love cooking up new and interesting things for. He always gives me tons of praise but is also honest if something doesn't need to be tried again. I love love love to bake things for him to take to his fabulous co-workers. I am absolutely obsessed with AllRecipes.com. It's so great to read peoples thoughts and opinions on recipes. The rating section has definately helped me pick winners more often than not and I am having so much fun finding new recipes I never would've thought to create.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts all the way! I'm sure that I could eat chocolate cheesecake or flourless chocolate cake for every meal of everyday.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Well this used to say that I was working on creating my own traditions, but since then we have created our own! We always make up yummy french toast on Christmas morning. Scones and a quiche are a must for mother's day or father's day. When we go to my parents' house for Thanksgiving, I'm usually given the huge and daunting task of bringing jello, but I someday aspire to cook the meal myself - or at least some dish that is a little more difficult than jello. Though I must admit, I have brought some pretty mean jello salads :)
My cooking triumphs
I have become famous with my husband's work for delicious scones that I got from this site(thanks to my sister-in-law). Also, when my daughter's medical needs required that all of us eat fat free for a short while, for my son's first birthday I turned a cake recipe into the most fresh, moist and fabulous lemon cake you've ever tasted that just so happens to be fat free!
My cooking tragedies
Alton Brown's green bean casserole... it was very gross, but it was my fault. Sometimes (or maybe all the time) fat free half and half just isn't the same as cream... :)
