Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2011
My husband and I both really enjoyed this recipe. I did change it just a little; only added 1 teaspoon of brown sugar, a pinch of ground ginger, and I did dredge the chicken strips in flour after seasoning them with salt and pepper. Dredging them in flour really helped thicken up the sauce and also gave the chicken a nice crispy coating. Next time I make this I will probably either add another teaspoon of brown sugar or cut down the hot sauce to 1-1/2 tablespoons.

Frosted Banana Bars

Reviewed: May 27, 2011
These bars are amazing. I halved the recipe and made them in a 8x8 pan. I topped them with the Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting that another reviewer suggested. Way better than store bought frosting.

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: May 27, 2011
This is my new go to cream cheese frosting. Instead of white sugar I used powdered sugar. Loved the idea of folding it into whipped cream. Tasted amazing.

Grilled Bruschetta Chicken

Reviewed: May 27, 2011
This is a great recipe! I made a few changes, but didn't stray too far off the original recipe. I used Wish-Bone's Bruschetta Italian Salad Dressing and marinated the chicken breasts for 6 hours. Then I used two roma tomatoes, added 2 tablespoons finely diced red onion, some garlic, 1/2 teaspoon dried basil since I didn't have fresh, mozzarella cheese, and salt and pepper to taste. I got grill marks on both sides of the chicken and then put on the foil with the tomato topping. My husband declared this one of his new favorite chicken recipes! I will be making this again and again.

Easy Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
This is a great, simple cookie! I didn't have lemon extract, so I used about 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. I let the dough sit in the refrigerator for about an hour so they were easier to shape. I definitely will be making these on a regular basis.

Hearty Chicken and Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
This is a good casserole. I used cream of chicken soup and added more seasonings like garlic powder and Italian seasonings. If made as is, I think it would have been too bland for my family's taste.

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2011
These are awesome! I do not have a mini muffin pan, so I just used my regular sized muffin pan and ended up with 8 muffins. I did add 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon to the batter as well. Next time I make these, I will probably double the recipe.

Smothered Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
This is a restaurant quality dish! My husband and I love this one. I do not add as much brown sugar to the onion mixture, about a tablespoon instead of the 1/4 cup. It gives the onions just a hint of sweetness and that is just right for us. I served it with twice baked potatoes. Delicious. **UPDATE** I just made this recipe on the grill and it turned out even better than on the stove top. I marinated the chicken with half a bottle of Lawry's Garlic and Herb marinade for 4 hours. Preheated the grill to medium heat and grilled the chicken for about 8 minutes on each side. Then I put a piece of tinfoil on the grill and put my chicken on it and topped the chicken with the onion mixture, bacon, and cheese and continued to cook it until the cheese was melted. Using the tinfoil prevents you from losing your onion mixture etc in the grill grates.

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
These are the best cinnamon rolls!! I used the whole package of instant pudding mix, added a couple more tsp of cinnamon, and decreased the amount of pecans to 1/3 cup since we don't care for them as much. It took about 25 minutes to bake in my oven. They turned out great! The frosting was delicious as well.

Made this for Thanksgiving and it was divine. Used 3 packages of cream cheese instead of 2 and baked it for about an hour in a water bath. This will be made every year for Thanksgiving from now on!

Easy Slow Cooker Meatballs

Sauce was very bland even after adding a lot more seasonings to it and it was very oily. The meatballs were okay, but I have had better. It is an easy meal, but I won't make this again.

Goulash Supreme

This is a regular in my house. I do cook the pasta separately and then add it to the meat mixture once it is almost tender. I also add a couple shakes of red pepper flakes since my husband likes it better with more spice.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

The root beer gives the pork a nice tang. I did rub some seasonings on the pork before putting it in the slow cooker and I also poked some holes in the pork so the juice could absorb better.
