I love making one pot wonders. Even now, as a work at home mom, I am all about some one pot meals. My kids love soups and stews, so that is a great thing! Thanksgiving 2006. We were hosting Thanksgiving for the first time in our new house. I decided to try out a turkey recipe that called for laying bacon across the turkey, and basting it in a maple syrup/butter glaze. Oh, and I used a "heavy duty" foil pan. Yeah, an 18 lb turkey covered with bacon and getting glazed with maple syrup doesn't do real well in a foil pan. Needless to say, we got to make sure the smoke alarms in our new home were fully functioning!!
