i am a 23 yr. old just learning to cook new things on my own. i have a handful of recipes that i continuously rotate, so i'm always looking for new things to try. although, i'm still a beginner, so i am still sticking to the "quick and easy" category:)
My favorite things to cook
anything i can bake, pretty much. we joke that i could happily make every meal at home if they consisted of cookies, cakes, brownies, etc. anything sweet is fun to cook, as far as i'm concerned. it's so fun to lick the bowl, ya know?
My favorite family cooking traditions
holidays! thanksgiving at gami's with turkey, ham, broccoli/cheese casserole...christmas breakfast at our house with sausage/cheese/egg casserole, hashbrowns, biscuits...birthday mornings at home with candles atop cinnamon rolls.
My cooking triumphs
i have managed to cook a few things that my mother/grandmothers cooked for us growing up, and these are the true "triumphs", in my book. i make an awesome potato salad that my gami taught me to make. the key is--adding tony cachere's seasoning on top--so yummy.
My cooking tragedies
once, when i was in high school, i decided to make cupcakes. the only problem was, when i got to the market, i realized that i couldn't find a section with *cupcake mix* in it. i frantically called my dad and asked where in the heck i'd find the cupcake mix--i thought they'd be near the cake mix, but none could be found! hello, cupcakes are made out of *CAKE MIX*! this was my blonde-cooking moment, i suppose.
