About this Cook
I'm an Army Wife and mother of two precious girls. I'm originally from Southern California but am currently living in beautiful Colorado. Right now I'm into cooking and baking. Just basically experimenting. I'm more of a baker though, but I do cook. I have a few recipes of my own that I've been wanting to put up just haven't had a chance to. I will soon! I have a three year old little girl. She's such a ham! She's mommy's little helper. She loves to help me in the kitchen. I also have a month old daughter. She's so precious and just like her mommy she LOVES to eat! My husband is a Sergeant in the US Army. He recently got back from Iraq after almost a year long deployment. I come from a big family. I'm filipino and only know how to cook two filipino dishes so I'm hoping to change that soon. I LOVE I Love Lucy! I'm such a fan of hers. Hence DesiluGirl. HeHe. Well that's all for now.
My favorite things to cook
Chicken, Cakes, Cookies, Breakfast items, Brownies, Appetizers. I like to try and cook everything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
It's not really a tradition but no one in my family measures ANYTHING!
My cooking triumphs
Enchiladas, Casseroles, Dips, Pork Chops, and Chicken.
My cooking tragedies
Meatloaf and Chicken Noodle Soup. I still need to find that GREAT recipe!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way
You seriously can't go wrong with this recipe! it's easy, it tastes good, and you already have everything in your pantry! it was my first thanksgiving to cook dinner without my family! and let me tell you it came out DEE-LI-CIOUS!! all of my friends ate up the turkey! I am tempted to go out and buy another turkey and make it again. it's just that good!

Beefy Cheese Dip
This is such an easy recipe!! It was a family favorite. I served it with a dollop of sour cream and Frito Scoops! My niece LOVED it she had 2 or 3 bowls. It's best served warm so I suggest cooking it in a slow cooker and keeping it on low as you serve it or even just putting it in a slow cooker to just keep warm.
