About this Cook
(Us, actually!) Jeffnie is our lame entity name- we're Jeff and Jennie, about to be married, and we enjoy cooking together. (well, Jeff is the onion chopper/measuring cup wrangler- Jennie provides the hovering over the stove parts) We're dorks. Nerds? We enjoy reading books, playing computer games, and Karaoke. We've been known to play the occasional game of Zombies. We drive a broken blue station wagon, and we have a Siamese cat named Kaia.
My favorite things to cook
We like German food, Indian food, and anything with green peppers. On the rare occasion that we bake, we stick to tried and true family recipes. Jennie sucks at baking. Jeff loves her anyway.
My favorite family cooking traditions
No real traditions for us as a couple, we both have our favorite recipes from our moms.
My cooking triumphs
Any time Jeff eats vegetables, it's a major victory!
My cooking tragedies
Um... if the can of pumpkin in your cupboard is actually dusty and does not have an expiration date, and if it happens to smell like metal when you open it, that does not bode well for your pumkin bars. 'Nuff said.

Moroccan Chicken
This was AWESOME! My husband and I used heaping measures of all spices except the cayenne and added a little cinnamon. My mom and my husband aren't the most adventurous, but they LOVED this. DH told me to cut it out and put it in the "keeper" pile.

Toasted Pumpkin Seeds
I've always made pumpkin seeds on the stovetop, but decided to try it this way this year. It was awesome! I subbed cajun seasoning for seasoned salt because I just ran out of Lawry's :(, and it worked great!

Alysia's Basic Meat Lasagna
The first thing my husband said after cleaning his plate was "You should go give that recipe 5 stars!" I'm paranoid about undercooked lasagna noodles (mom's were always tough), so I half-cooked my noodles. And we only had 1/2 the mozzarella she recommended, but we improvised with extra shredded parmesan. This one is a definite keeper, the best homemade (well, mostly)lasagna I've ever had. Thanks!
