About this Cook
I am single and own a condo in the biggest small town in the midwest. My friends usually try to get together biweekly to cook together and have fun. I guess I learned to cook from my mom. She is a fabulous cook. We have different asthetics. She is a country cook/baker. I like to use a lot of herbs/spices in my food and cook different ethnic types of food.
My favorite things to cook
italian, fruity desserts, sweet potato fries
My favorite family cooking traditions
we make a huge meal for Christmas eve, eat together and then celebrate Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
Pancit. I asked the Philippino woman that introduced me to the dish for the recipe and she basically did one of those... chicken, noodles, shrimp and pork. uhhh... thanks? But after 3 attempts, I had perfected the recipe from what I remembered. If there is any doubt, my best friend that HATES shrimp ate it and LOVED it.
My cooking tragedies
Either making a crockpot dish where I put the noodles in for too long and ended up with a glue project or when I was 9 and attempted to make coleslaw with lettuce. Not good!

Unbelievably Awesome Barbeque Chicken Pizza
Didn't have marinara. Used salsa instead and oh my.... yum! Also I used either asparagus or spinach for some green. Thanks for sharing!

Red Cabbage-Asparagus Salad with Tahini Dressing
I was extremely surprised at how wonderfully this recipe turned out. I HATE creamy sauce. I was very concerned when I made the dressing, but I tried it anyway and was VERY pleased. I added chicken and a ginger dressing. Thank you for sharing. I will make this recipe repeatedly!
