I am 30 years old (as of 2006), am married to a great guy who will eat ANYTHING. From the most exotic cuisine to something I burnt to a crisp - he'll eat it. He may not like it, but he'll try. I also have a 2 year old son who will try and eat most things -- I'm lucky to have this kind of freedom to create meals.
I work full time from home and try to keep dinner preparations around 30 min. from inexpensive ingredients. On sundays I like to bake.
My favorite things to cook
easy, fast and delicious or slow, simmering, fill-the-house with aroma type dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Nothing says "Home" to me like a pot of my mom's spaghetti sauce simmering all day and the sound of college football on the television. It's such a peaceful, content feeling.
My cooking triumphs
I've recently gotten to the point where I know just enough about cooking and baking to experiment successfully. I used to experiment but didn't understand what I was doing and it rarely turned out good. Now I can know what I want to end up with and figure out how to get there.
My cooking tragedies
Hmmmm.... a pot of BURNT BLACK green beans I made for my then boyfriend (now husband). As soon as he came to the door for his "home cooked meal" I grabbed my purse and said, "Where're we going?" He said, "I thought you were cooking?" "No, you said you'd take me out. I didn't make dinner." I said.
