Amish Sugar Cookies

Very good; I love the light tender texture. I did feel that there was just a little something missing flavor-wise, though. Not sure what. I'll be making these again.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2007
Superb! Following other reviewers' suggestions, I added 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, and 3/4 tsp. cinnamon to the muffin batter. I also used canola oil in place of the melted butter and 1/2 c. white sugar and 1/4 c. brown. In the crumb topping I increased the cinnamon to 1/4 tsp. These are very good and will go in my 'keepers' file!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
Very good banana bread recipe. I increased the brown sugar to 1 c. and added 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and 1/4 tsp. nutmeg to dry ingredients in step 2. Also added 1 tsp. vanilla with the bananas. I baked at 350 for 50 minutes, then turned oven down to 300 for last 10 min. Wonderful banana flavor and very moist!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Yummy and moist! I used 2 c. white sugar and 1 c. brown, and increased the spices 1.5 x. I baked a 9 x 5 loaf and baked the rest in pretty coffee cups, wrapped up, and gave to coworkers. I agree that it is much better the next day!

I added chopped celery to saute with the onion, then 2 minced cloves of garlic. I also added 2 tsp. each of dried parsely and coarsely ground black pepper and 1/2 c. chicken broth. Tasty, quick and easy recipe!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I made these less than 12 hours ago, and they're half gone! Sent a bag of them to work with my boyfriend so I wouldn't be able to eat the whole jar of cookies! I followed the recipe and they were perfect, next time am going to try with allspice and all butter, just to see. Thank you!

These were good, but next time I will make the filling spicier. Maybe will add some finely chopped chipotles en adobo.

Sweet Corn Tomalito

Cut the sugar in half, and it was still way too sweet for us. I used the microwave method, and texture-wise, it came out fine.

This was very good, and easy. After reading the reviews, I also reduced the milk to one cup for a slightly thicker sauce.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

These were awesome; next time, I will make a double batch! I followed the recipe, and per review suggestions, chilled the dough about an hour. I then used a small ice cream scoop to transfer the dough to sugar; didn't have much trouble with the stickiness.
