About this Cook
I am the mother/stepmother of three teenagers! I have a son-16, daughter-14, and my husband of 2 years has a daughter who is now 17. My husband and I are both elementary school teachers. We have very busy lives but I try to make time to cook a really good sit-down dinner for us at least three times a week. It's a challenge, so I really appreciate the quick/easy recipes and the slow-cooker recipes I've found on this site.
My favorite things to cook
When I have time (whenever that is!) I love to bake. About a year ago I made my first cheesecake and have been going crazy with cheesecakes since then. I like to try new cake recipes of all kinds. I also enjoy cooking just about all types of foods. I am a vegetarian, but I cook meat for the rest of the family. I like to use slow-cooker recipes that I can prepare in the morning and have ready when I come home from work. The "Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast" recipe on here is one of my family's favorites. I also substitute round steak for the roast a lot of the time. My husband can't get enough of that.

Grilled Corn on the Cob
This was great! I soaked the corn in water, left the silk & husks intact, and didn't add anything to the corn as suggested by others. **I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but if you are going to soak the corn you can just put the ears in a bag, fill with water, expel air, and tie the bag. That way you don't have to worry about turning the corn or trying to weigh down the floating ears. Everyone in my family loved this corn!

Cheesecake Supreme
Incredible. I followed all the suggestions given by HEISLORD5, plus I added 2 tsp. vanilla per The Cake Maker. It was soooo good and did not crack. The texture was wonderful. I was told that it was my best cheesecake yet by several people. Thanks for the recipe and the extra hints from others!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches
This is SO easy--I don't know how it could be any easier. My family loves it, and I often make it when friends are coming over. It's a stress-free meal that people really enjoy.
