D's Famous Salsa
The consistency is good, as is the color, but even using Hunts tomatoes (as was rec'd), cumin, and chili powder, it was still too tomato tasting for my taste. It needs something more ... lots more. I ended up adding balsamic vinegar, a lot of cumin and chili powder, some onion powder, garlic powder, and a couple of chilies in adobo sauce before getting it to taste like anything other than "just tomatoes". I'm not sure what the rave reviews are all about. Without all the doctoring I did, this was plain.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
These weren't all they were described to be. They were soft, but lacked color and crisp edges. I usually make the Tollhouse recipe, and the cookies come out perfectly. With this one though, they didn't compare. Stick with Tollhouse.

Best Spanish Rice
This is ok, nothing special. I prefer starting with chicken stock, using a can of tomato sauce, cumin, and mexican spices. Tastes more authentic that way. This is similar to a rice a roni type mexican rice. Meh.
