Real Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
I made these using a ranch dill white cheddar curd. My family, living in SE MN and growing up on cheese curds, decided these were the best curds they have ever eaten.

Spaghetti Pie III

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
My family really liked this dish to my surprise, but I did not use green peppers. Also, I used Mozzarella Cheese, fresh shredded, instead of cheddar. I gave this four stars because I found there was not nearly enough sauce for the dish...but we have made it a few times since I found the recipe.

Tomatillo Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
I did not want to give this recipe a rating because I do not think it is fair but I was forced. I think maybe it is my personal taste and not the actual recipe itself. I hated this soup. The man who eats everything in this house (and I mean everything!) took two tastes and refused another bite. I followed the recipe to a tee. The only thing I did different was strain the soup off so that it was nothing but the broth. The whole thing tasted like I dumped a bottle of vinegar in it. I realize tomatillos are tangy but ughhh. I do think it might be us and our tastes more than the recipe. Whoever tries this, I strongly recommend making it before trying it on company and when you do make it, make it without being concerned if you have to throw it out.

Egg Salad Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
GREAT! The best egg salad recipe ever. The mustard powder is the difference, all the flavor none of the tang. You can actually taste the egg too. I did not add garlic powder or onion powder because they were not flavors I was interested in today...but this is the best ever.

Panna Cotta

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
Perfect recipe. I did use 2 cups of heavy cream with 1/2 cup of half and half because this is what I had in the fridge. I also made mine in muffin tins which I greased with olive oil (did not affect the dessert even a little bit) and then I topped them with hot fudge. This recipe made 8 1/2 panna cottas for me in the muffin tins.

Cinnamon Rolls III

OK, you got me. I love Cinnamon Rolls now. The only changes I made, added the entire pkg of vanilla pudding, used 3/4 cup butter, and did not use a bread machine. PERFECT!

Half and Halfs

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2007
I only made two changes...I added 1/2 teasp baking powder in addition to the 1/4 baking soda and I used Chocolate Chunks on the chocolate side. The BEST cookie I have ever made....they were so big and fluffy. I did put them down on the cookie sheet and first and then seal the seam. Thanks SO much for sharing. They were awesome.

Soft Garlic Breadsticks

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
These breadsticks were just what I have been looking for! Soft and the right texture...I agree they were not as garlicky as I would like but my partner does not like a ton of garlic so it was perfect for her. I will make them this exact way from here on out but if you like more garlic please add more or you will think it is bland.

I used ranch dressing to moisten, finely grated swiss cheese, crescent rolls cut into rounds, and green onions instead of regular onions. DELICIOUS! Perfectly delicious!

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
Good for what it was, too thick and sweet for me but everyone else loved it and it did just what it was supposed to. I made it in the microwave, however, 45 seconds, stir, 45 more seconds, stir and drizzle.

Spicy Italian Pork Cutlets

I could not rate it more because it was not knocking my socks off but it was very very good and I will surely keep it in my dinner rotation. I appreciated the new flavors to introduce to pork and I really appreciated that the ingredients are everything most cooks will have in their kitchen. Thanks so much for sharing!

Green Banana Fries

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2007
Thanks so much for sharing! I made these for my family because they LOVE french fries and I am trying to get them to eat better. My partner has not had fries in over a month and so she felt there was no difference in taste other than a mild sweetness. And I do mean mild. Best advice, make sure your oil is heated well and also that you place fries in the oil one at a time to avoid sticking. We salted and peppered and they were great and low fat/low cal.

Aztec Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2007
This is a good BASE recipe which is why I gave it five stars...everyone loved this but I made serious changes. I used 18 corn tortillas. I cooked and then cubed the chicken ahead of time. In a 5 qt pan I mixed a large can of enchilada sauce, a small can of green chiles, 1 can of corn, 1 can of black beans, two cups of white rice, and one package of taco seasoning. I added 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to this after allowing it to cook about 15 mins. I sprayed the bottom of the pan with nonstick spray and added 6 tortillas spread out, topped with chicken mixture, topped with shredded cheddar and pepper jack cheese, layered 6 more tortillas, topped with chicken mixture and cheeses, another layer of tortillas and mix and cheese and left open faced. I sprinkled with crushed white corn tortilla chips. I cooked in the oven for about 10 to 15 mins on 350. It was NOT messy and it was SO delicious! WILL MAKE AGAIN...hope you try to changes it will make a clean, easy, flavorful, quick casserole.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

I made this sauce with the chicken over linguine without the peppers and it was great. I added more parm. than required and also added 1/4 cup sour cream to make the sauce richer. I also made this sauce with shrimp and it was delicious! Will make again I am sure.

Crab Dip II

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
This was a great recipe and I do not even like crab dip. I made this for a party but never send out anything I do not taste...so...everyone raved about it and asked for a recipe. One change I made was to grate some radish into the dip and also I served this on belgian endive boats which was a huge hit and gave it a bit more oniony flavor which people enjoyed.

Though I was unable to taste this after I made it I can say it smelled wonderful...I am giving this a four star however because during the party where it was served I noted that though people claimed to like it only one or two people ate more than one piece.

I am not sure what is so wonderful about these chops...not very tender, very bland, and unappetizing to look at. Will not make again.
