58 year old mother of 4, + 3 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. I've recently become disabled (due to cancer) and finally can stay home and spend more time cooking Homestyle Mexican. Turkey - It's the cheapest way to feed a lot of people and you can do so much with the leftovers. I'm getting pretty good at soups and muffins. My mother taught not to waste anything. So I try to find a use for all parts of meat, vegetables and fruits. My step-granddaughter and I spend a weekend every December baking for Christmas. We LOVE it! Learning to be patient while cooking has been very difficult for me, especially the years I worked with young children. I'm enjoying being able to take my time to cook more carefully and my families compliments is my reward. Especially when they tell their friends my cooking is "Bad ". :) It's that patient problem. I tried to hurry for so many years. When I'm cooking, my husband walks in and asks "what are you burning", rather than what are you cooking. :P I'm improving. He just doesn't believe me. LOL
