About this Cook
My cooking tragedies
When I was in Jr High, my mom asked me to put a prepared pan of oven fried chicken into the oven before I left for the evening so dinner would be ready for her and my brother. I preheated the oven, pulled the chicken out of the fridge, put it in the oven, set the timer for an hour and left. I knew it would be ok because my brother would be home in 30 minutes. They came home sat down to eat and my brother committed that the chicken was "crispier" than normal. Then he "peeled" the skin off the top of the chicken breast, only to discover that it was melted plastic! I had forgotten to take the plastic wrap off the dish before inserting it into the oven. I have yet to hear the end of it...

Chicken Puffs
I have made these for years but with a few slight differences. I use chive and onion cream cheese. I also saute mushrooms with garlic and toss it in the mixture as well. I omit the butter.

Luscious Lemon Layer Cake
Just wanted to note that the ingredients missing are 1 tbsp Cornstarch, pinch of salt and 3 tbsp water.

Cherry Chambord Butter
I made two batches for Mothers Day to go on Waffles. I made one batch exactly as the recipe states. The second, I replaced the Chambord with vanilla and the Cherry preserves with peach. It was great! And as my family loves peach it was a bigger hit than the original.
