I'm a mid-western transplant living in the South and loving it. The first time I came south I felt like I was home. I'm still trying to get the rest of my family down here. There's hardly any cold weather. Yeah!
My favorite things to cook
I really don't have any favorite things to cook other than fast and hot such as chili, spaghetti, steak, etc. I'm really uninspired but hoping this site will peak my interest.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I learned to cook from my mom who worked most of the time while I was growing up. When I was little, though, she used to bake cookies and pie all the time. She made a mean jello pudding cake, too. I'm drooling just thinking about it. I also learned how to make my infamous baked beans and sloppy joe from both my parents, really. Adding pineapple in the baked beans was from dad.
My cooking triumphs
I'm still waiting for that masterpiece moment....
My cooking tragedies
I went without a stove for over a year and now my sink is busted, so it's been a challenge fixing anything other than microwable food and sandwiches. Yuck!
