About this Cook
I'm 53, a stay-at-home wife, aka "domestic goddess" who enjoys cooking, baking, and collecting cookbooks. I also enjoy going to craft sales, and reading books about the paranormal. My 3 all-time favorite cookbooks are: Betty Crocker's 1973 Cookbook, 1976 Campbell Cookbook (Cooking with Soup) and 1979 Pillsbury Kitchens' Family Cookbook. I actually have been a meber of this site since the late 90's, and have posted a few recipes, but under another name.
My favorite things to cook
Egg Rolls, Lasagna, Stuffed Manicotti, Spaghetti with Meat Sauce or Meatballs, Chicken Macaroni Salad, Wedding Dumplings, home cooked soups, pasta salads, layered lettuce salads, anything in the crockpot, home-made fudge, Lemon Bars, Mocha Brownies, Frozen Yogurt Pies, a variety of cookies, such as: Santa Cookies, Gingerbread Boys, Peanut Butter Cut-Out Cookies, Toffee Almond Sandies, etc... I also enjoy brewing/preparing my own iced teas, and a variety of iced coffees. In the Spring I enjoy preparing a variety of Rhubarb jams, preserves, pies, and other delicious rhubarb desserts.
My cooking triumphs
Many of my recipes have been pulished in our city's Buyer's Guide Cookbook, our church cookbook, our city's newspaper, and my Peanut Butter Cut-Out Cookie recipe, has been published in The Taste of Home 2004 Christmas Cookbook, as well as the Country Woman's 2003 Christmas Cookbook. Just recently my recipe for Pasta Carbonara, was published in the May/June 2009 issue of Taste of Home Simple & Delicious Magazine.

Mocha Coffee
This coffee was very good! I did however modified the recipe somewhat. To make the coffee, I used Folgers Gourmet Selections Chocolate Truffle Coffee, (1 tablespoon of ground coffee per 8 ounces of water) and to my cup of coffee, I added 1 tablespoon, plus 1 teaspoon of sugar, 4 tablespoons of half-and-half, the tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder, and I topped the coffee with a dollop of Cool Whip, and a light sprinkle of ground cinnamon. Mmm yum, this was sooo good! Thank you Johanna Adams for posting this recipe. This recipe is definitely a keeper!!!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf
An excellant tasting meatloaf! The only change I made to the recipe was, I only added 1/2 cup of milk, which I think was more than enough liquid. Be sure invert meatloaf onto a large platter over the kitchen sink when ready to serve, as the sauce and excess grease does splatter somewhat. Thank you tangastar for this wonderful tasting meatloaf recipe. It was very good!!

Teriyaki Chicken for the Busy Cook
I'm sorry I have to say this, but I was really disappointed with this recipe. The chicken tasted very bland, and I didn't care for the texture of skin. Neither the soy sauce or orange soda, did nothing to flavor the chicken. This chicken does not evoke a true teriyaki taste. I felt I wasted time and ingredients on preparing this recipe.
