About this Cook
Cooking became a hobby of mine some years back by helping Gramma in the kitchen. Watching, tasting and learning what she did. Then trying to do better.
My favorite things to cook
Chili, chicken franchaise, crab stuffed tilapia, escarole and beans and one of my all time EASY favorites, blackened catfish.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pasta with home made marinara sauce. TONS of garlic and basil.
My cooking triumphs
I have a few. ;-)
My cooking tragedies
I once made 100 home made egg rolls for a party. I did not separate them before freezing. They all wound up getting stuck together and try as I did, could not get them apart. Two days of work down the drain. Valuable lesson learned there.

It's Chili by George!!
ATTN "Amber". What were your "minor adjustments"? Mine were: added 1 small can of sliced mushrooms, 8 oz of beef stock, 1/2 can of beer, small can of corn, simmered longer than suggested 90 minutes. Served over baked potatoe.

ATTN RWLEVINSON. You can try thickening your sauce using a little "Wondra" flour. It's a fine flour that doesn't clump up like regular flour. Add a little at a time until the desired consistancy.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker
I've made this before and I love it. Here's a GREAT idea for the next day left-overs. Pull the pork apart with your fingers and warm in a pan with your favorite BBQ sauce. Voila! Pulled pork BBQ sandwiches.
