About this Cook
I am a newlywed!! I got married on June 10, 2006. I work full time in an office and go to College part time.
My favorite things to cook
Anything! Chicken, Pasta, Baked goods, Fun creative things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas my Aunt makes all kinds of christmas cookies, and snacks, and treats. And she passes a goody bag out to all her relatives. I look forward to getting some Chex Mix every year!
My cooking triumphs
I have not made a single meal for dinner that my husband has not liked.
My cooking tragedies
*I was making spaghetti and was looking for onion powder. I grabbed a container that I thought was onion powder and put it in. When I tasted the sauce I realized that the sauce was pretty tangy. I looked at the container that I thought was onion powder and tasted a dab of it. It was Lemonade mix. Lemonade and spaghetti sauce are not a good mix. *I was making lasagna. I had cooked the noodles, layed them flat, prepared the sauce, and layered everything into the dish. The dish was pretty full so I put the glass dish on top of a metal cookie sheet. I opened the oven to put the lasagna in and grabed the cookie sheet and not the dish. Nedless to say my lasagna that took me an hour to prep had slid off the side of the cookie sheet and fell, shattering to the floor. There was lasanga, glass, and sauce all over the place. I was not sad I dropped it I was sad that I spent so much time on it and I did not get to even try it. I learned my lesson and get teased about it all the time.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
Excellent recipe. I used country style ribs that I seasoned up and seared on the stovetop. Cooked them 6 hours on high, drained the root beer, shredded the meat, added in the BBQ sauce and cooked for 1 1/2 hours longer. Thank you.

Mexican Rice II
This was so awesome. My husband and I both loved it! I will be making this again. I used jasmine rice (rinsed it 3 times in cold water), omitted the onions, added onion powder and chili powder. Thank you for sharing!

Scrumptious Strawberry Shortcake
These were wonderful!! My modifications included, 1) reduced amount of cream of tarter to only 1/8tsp(a pinch) 2) used food processor to cut in the butter 3) used 2% milk instead of heavy cream 4) added in 1-2 tsp vanilla extract 5) sprinkled tops with sugar before baking.
