About this Cook
I was brought up in deep South Texas eating Tex-Mex food. I never ate outside my comfort zone until I met my husband, who introduced me to Asian food. Now I love to eat both and try to cook both. Although I didn't cook much before having kids, I have always loved to bake since I was a little girl.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Asian, Mexican, and pasta. I also love to bake, which I've been doing since I got my Easy-Bake oven decades ago.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom makes tamales every year around Christmas. It takes a lot of work to make them, especially spreading the "masa" on the corn husks. My mom, sisters, and whoever else we can wrangle into helping out, chat and laugh while doing this. It's always a fun time.

Orange Glazed Carrots
We loved these carrots. I didn't have orange juice, so I used fresh grapefruit juice (sweet). It was still good, so it must be even better with OJ.

Honey Baked Chicken II
Wonderful. Very easy. Will double the sauce next time.

Pollo Fajitas
There were so many good ingredients in this fajita recipe that I thought they would taste better than the ones I make with plain fajita seasoning. All we could taste was the chili powder, which I don't particularly like.
