I was brought up in deep South Texas eating Tex-Mex food. I never ate outside my comfort zone until I met my husband, who introduced me to Asian food. Now I love to eat both and try to cook both. Although I didn't cook much before having kids, I have always loved to bake since I was a little girl. I love to cook Asian, Mexican, and pasta. I also love to bake, which I've been doing since I got my Easy-Bake oven decades ago. My mom makes tamales every year around Christmas. It takes a lot of work to make them, especially spreading the "masa" on the corn husks. My mom, sisters, and whoever else we can wrangle into helping out, chat and laugh while doing this. It's always a fun time.
