I am happily married mom of two. I work every other weekend as a medical technologist. I love being home during the week with my kids and volunteering at their school.
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new recipe. But my favorite things to cook and old standards that I spice up. My husband loves my oven fried chicken with crushed rosemary.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family passes down recipes from one generation to the other. I love making my grandmother's pigs in the blanket (aka cabbage rolls for those not from Johnstown). I also have a wonderful time making christmas cookies with my children. They love to help me stir and of course taste the end product!
My cooking triumphs
My son's first birthday and easter were at the same time. My husband and I made dinner for both sets of families. We got this great smoked ham and made a honey-mustard/pinapple glaze. I made oven fried chicken tenders and pan fried green beans with garlic and parmasan cheese. We also had buttered parsley red potatoes. There was a fruit salad and of course birthday cake for dessert. Both families loved it. This was the first time that I had ever cooked for my husbands family. I was very happy everything turned out!
My cooking tragedies
This is the first year that I will be making a big Thanksgiving dinner. Here's to hoping that I won't have a cooking tragedy to put here!!!
