We are a busy family! We own a small business- New Dimension Wood Design- www.newdimensionwooddesign.com I often work from a home office, how lucky am I?!?! I can swing preparing home-cooked meals at least 5 nights a week.
My favorite things to cook
Everything! Different is fabulous, though, have enough different dishes I can cook up off the top of my head, quite quickly...that the family continues to enjoy!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up mom made the best Jewish food. Chicken Soup w/ Matzo Balls, Vegetable Soup, Brisket, Potato Kugel, Noodle Kugel, MandleBread. It means a lot to me that Mom lives with us now (she has Alzheimer's). All we have to do is discuss Jewish cooking and it makes us all happy :- )
My cooking triumphs
My first attempt at Canning (2007) was not a complete loss. I made what were the best baby gerkin pickles I have ever tasted! Everyone thought they were wonderful! They were so good I quickly got another batch going.
My cooking tragedies
(2007)Only half of the Canned Peaches turned out well. I was told I will get better with each experience -I look forward to this. I was not so happy at first, though to have a few qt jars of peaches on the first attempt was better than not having any.
I have not been able to Can 2008 & thus far 2009 due to family situations. I wish I had the time, though, it looks like freezing will have to do.
