This past weekend created some of the strangest weather I have ever been involved in.  Throughout my life I have seen news reports and photos of people involved in terrible flooding and disasters but like so many I didn’t think it would ever happen to me or my friends but this weekend… MORE

About this Cook
I am a runner/triathlete so I enjoy eating delicious, healthy food. I buy most of my food at the local farmer's market and enjoy trying new things with the local ingredients.
My favorite things to cook
I am a sucker for seafood. I love just about anything that comes from the water.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making my grandmother's meatloaf. It reminds me of being a child.
My cooking triumphs
Creating a delicious (if not entirely authentic) Chinese New Year dinner for about 20 people.
My cooking tragedies
Pancakes. There is something with me and pancakes. I just can't seem to make them right. They are always too soggy or burnt or there is just something wrong with them.

Anne's Fabulous Grilled Salmon
Loved it. Cooked it exactly as directed and it came out perfect.

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil
This was surprisingly delicious for a dish with so few ingredients. Even my DH who doesn't typically like pasta or anything cheesy really liked this dish. Although I did have to keep reminding him that it was NOT rice.

Vegetable Lo Mein
I found that the cayenne pepper sort of overwhelmed the recipe. I will make again but will either omit the cayenne pepper altogether or will reduce it dramatically.
