About this Cook
I have only been seriously cooking for a couple of years but I enjoy trying new things. Unfortunately though I do not have the confidence yet to be very inventive so that is why I love this site. I can read what others have done to a recipe to modify/improve it.
My favorite things to cook
I am a sucker for seafood. I love just about anything that comes from the water. I also love sun-dried tomatoes and constantly try to find new ways of making them.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making my grandmother's meat loaf. It reminds me of being a child.
My cooking triumphs
Creating a Chinese New Year dinner for about 20 people.
My cooking tragedies
Pancakes. There is something with me and pancakes. I just can't seem to make them right. They are always too soggy or too burnt or there is just something wrong with them.

Asian Coleslaw
Wonderful recipe. It was a great way to use up a bunch of red and green cabbage that I had in the summer from the farmer's market. My husband (who is very picky) raved about this recipe.

Southwestern Spaghetti Squash
I really enjoyed this. It was my first experience with Spaghetti Squash and I was very pleased. The only problem was I ended up having to throw some of it away because it made a ton and my DH (who doesn't like black beans) wouldn't eat it and I couldn't finish it all.

Single Crust Peach Pie
This came out really soupy. When you cut into it the pie completely fell apart. Apart from the appearance (and that I had to eat it with a spoon), it was delicious!
