Melt In Your Mouth Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
These weren't all that great. The flavor does not permeate the meat and all in all the flavor isn't too impressive. I won't make these again.

Hearty Hamburger Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
My family really enjoyed this soup. I used 24 oz. of frozen veggies and 10 minute quick cook barley and this was ready in no time. The flavor was good and the leftovers were wonderful.

Honey Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
I found this cornbread to be bland. Not a lot of taste. I prefer the Homesteader Cornbread recipe from this site. I wanted to try something new and this sounded good with the honey but it wasn't something I will make again.

Cranberry Hootycreeks

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
These are like a cakey cookie without a lot of flavor. I was hoping the craisins and white chocolate would add more taste but I was disappointed.

Mom's Best Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
No one really liked this meatloaf. It was very mushy. The consistency was awful. The flavor wasn't bad but I won't make this again.

Uglies

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
I liked the concept of these a lot. I used Grands biscuits and a lot less cheese. I agree with a previous reviewer who said the type of bbq sauce makes a big difference. Next time I will use a more mild sauce as mine was too tangy for the kids. I may even follow the suggestion of just using sloppy joe mix since I know they like that. I served this with fries and it was a quick simple dinner.

Baked Parmesan Perch

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
I have never made perch before, and I will never make it again. My family really didn't like it. I had to make a lot more breading for my pound of fish. The amount the recipe called for was not nearly enough. It is a typical breaded fish, we just did not like the taste of perch.

Fast Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
I can only give this 3 stars because there is WAY too much cinnamon in this. I used about 3/4 Tbsp. and still it was overpowering. I also had to cook it covered for about 12 min. to get it thick and creamy. So as not to waste it, I added vanilla ice cream to our bowls and that cut it a bit. I will try this again when I have leftover rice but only use 1 tsp. cinnamon and know that it wont be ready in just 15 min., it takes longer. Update- I made this again with a tsp of cinnamon and still found it to be a bit much. You could also really taste that it was too sweet. I won't make this again. I am revising this rating down to one star because this is just not a good rice pudding recipe. There are definitely better ones out there.

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
I used the whole packet of brown gravy (mostly because I had no idea what to do with only half a packet of gravy and I hate to be wasteful) and this is a very flavorful roast. I used Diet Pepsi as the cola and you can't taste it at all. But it sure makes a great gravy. I cooked a 3.5 lb. sirloin roast in the crockpot for 2 hours on high and then 3.5 hours on low. It was great!!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies VII

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
These are some great cookies. My husband said the best I've made in a while. I reduced the white sugar to 1/2 cup and substituted chocolate chips for raisins. I did not make these as bars but dropped by rounded spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet for 13 minutes at 350. They came out perfect. A delicious and chewy cookie.

Coconut Poke Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
This was amazing. Everyone really loved it. I followed the recipe exactly except for the whipped topping. I have no idea how one could use 16 oz. I only used barely half that amount and it was just right. The ooey gooeyness of this cake makes it so delicious. But it isn't overly wet and is still good 2 days later. BTW, I used cream of coconut not coconut milk like some others. It was in the liquor section of the grocery store. It's what is used to make foo foo drinks.

Campbell's® Slow-Cooked Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
I used a 4 1/2 lb. boston butt pork roast and cooked on low for 8 hrs. and it shredded so easily and tasted good but a bit too sweet. I skipped the step of browning it first and don't think it made any difference. But this isn't a BBQ Pork sandwich which is what I was going for. So after shredding the roast I poured the liquid out of my crockpot and put the shredded pork in with a bottle of BBQ sauce, stirred, and cooked till warmed through. MM MM MM good. My husband was so impressed. This tasted just as good as anything we could get at a BBQ restaurant. And it reheats easily and tastes just as good the next day. As for this recipe, it makes a good pork sandwich but I prefer something a little zestier. And I would reduce the brown sugar to 2 Tbs. since the sweetness was too much. I would highly recommend this recipe.

Emily's Manicotti

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
The family liked this a lot. I enjoyed the flavor of mixing the meats. Very good. This is a simple, delicious recipe. To stuff the manicotti I used a toddler spoon. No problems with shells splitting that way.

Lemonade Pie III

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
I really liked this dessert and so did DH, but others who tried it just thought it to be so so. Earlier in the day I sliced strawberries, added sugar and let them sit in the fridge and then topped each piece with a spoonful. I liked a berry with each bite but it was also good on its own. A great dessert on a hot day.

Oven-Barbecued Spareribs

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
This was my first time making spareribs and I loved this recipe. I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of the celery. It was the only thing I didn't have on hand. This was easy to prepare and I highly recommend it.

Banana Prune Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
We found these muffins to be bland, not very tasty. I did like using the prunes. I told my kids they were plums. I highly recommend cutting them into tiny pieces as a previous reviewer mentioned. I followed the recipe exactly as written. All in all, they weren't bad just not good enough to make again.

Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2009
This was great!! The cobbler is the best I have had. We had it with vanilla ice cream and when it melts in with the peaches it is so yummy. *tip- to easily peel the peaches dip them into boiling water for 30-60 seconds then dunk into ice cold water.
