My cheesy potatoes and onions
About this Cook
I love to plant, harvest, and preserve. In the Bible Jesus talked plain and easy stuff, like soil, seeds and love! Thats what drew me in to gardening!
My favorite things to cook
Anything with fresh vegetables from my garden. I love making soups, sauces and then canning them. Nice in the Winter, still with the freshness of Summer. I also can my own pizza sauce and make my own pizza crust. We don't have pizza delivery where I live. I make salsa, tomato sauce and stewed tomatoes. When my husband bought me a KitchenAid stand up mixer, life got easier! I have a lot of the attachments and its great for kneading dough, and separating seed and pulp from the juice of a tomato. Everyone needs one in the kitchen!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just getting together and everyone in the kitchen pitching in. I love the all the days we do this including the holidays! And AHH the smells and tastes from the kitchen! From the garden to the kitchen is the best!
My cooking triumphs
I have been blessed with an acre + garden. Wow what can't anyone cook with fresh vegetables? I like to can alot. I make homemade soups, chile, and beans and ham and can them. I can potatoes and sweet potatoes as well. With my soups and sauces I use fresh vegetables from my garden to cook them. I also won 1st prize at my church for the cranberry apple pie that I got from allrecipes. I love to cook with fresh herbs. I start herbs from seed and sell them. I keep a lot of them and use them to cook with. I love making fresh pesto.
My cooking tragedies
Anyone who cooks or bakes is going to have a tragedy sometime or the other. We need to experiment. Thats why we are cooks! I just started making homemade breads and rolls. Sometimes it just doesn't come out right. But Most of the time it does, and thats a good thing. Fresh bread is so awesome!

Kielbasa Pasta Casserole
I don't usually modify recipes except I only use fresh ingredients in my recipes. I used my own canned stewed tomatoes (they smell like I just cut up the peppers, onions and tomatoes). I also used fresh parley and basil that I grow. I didn't see any sense in cooking the kielbasa in oil. I just browned it, I put in a lot of fresh garlic and crushed dried hot peppers, and topped with homeade bread crumbs and pepper jack cheese. It was great. Thanks for the this great recipe.

Buttermilk Pound Cake II
I took it to work and they loved it. I used only 2 cups of sugar, too. The cake was not too dry at all, very moist and loved by all who ate it.
