About this Cook
I'm a typical Army wife, moving and adapting with my husbands career, but I always make it a point to learn a new dish or two from wherever we're currently stationed.
My favorite things to cook
My own personal favourites are vegetarian foods, but my husband and kids just love it when I bake cakes and cookies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hungarian foods-the traditional soups and desserts, and food from the South.
My cooking triumphs
Peanut Butter Pie! A recipe I got years ago from a colleague, it's now been featured in 2 different cookbooks, and has been a staple at every family gathering since.
My cooking tragedies
I once tried to make a smoked salmon pie, that was a disaster, the cream wouldn't clot properly, and it was just a tasteless, runny mess.

Roasted Chickpeas
My daughter, who doesn't normally eat any kind of bean, ate almost the whole can of garbanzo beans that I made using this recipe. She doesn't eat meat either, but at least now I can susbtitue this in for some protein for her. Thanks for a great recipe!

Gingerbread I
Dryness wasn't a problem, just take it out a little sooner. I also substituted in orange juice, and I think it paired really well with the ginger. even my picky kids loved it!

The Best and Cheesiest Artichoke Dip
This is fantastic! The only changes I made to it (after reading reviews) were to add 2 cloves crushed garlic, a generous pinch of kosher salt, and instead of using plain mozzarella, I substituted Kraft Italian Blend Cheese. That made all the difference. Also, use fresh grated parmesan, not the kind in a jar. This recipe is a definite keeper!
