Pad Thai

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
Not like any Pad Thai I have ever purchased from a restaurant. Followed other reviews suggestion to triple sauce, added 4 teaspoon PB, little soy sauce, lime juice... cooked chicken with veg. oil/sesame oil and minced garlic. I did reduce the eggs to one, as I hate them. The dish was bland with a lot of heat from the red pepper. I will not be making this again, the only reason I gave it 3 stars is because as it cooled, it tasted less bland.

Asian Flank Steak Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
My family and I did not care for this and we usually like stir fry. For some reason we though it was spicy?! It was just not a flavor we cared for. I ended up eating the rest of my toddler's mcdonalds burger.

Cornish Game Hens with Garlic and Rosemary

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
Excellent, filling meal. Made only two hens, but quadrupled the sauce. Placed half the sauce in the roasting pan with minced garlic (also place a .5 tbsp inside). Cooked according to package directions, which was an hour fiften plus. Added flour to the "gravy."

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
Made these for our "breakfast" dinner last night. They were so good. I made two with chocolate chips for the kids, and they said it was good (sounds yuck!). The syrup is real easy, and makes the pancakes.

Chunky Seafood Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
Too sweet. I don't know if it was the brand I used, but the imitation crab seemed to make the soup "sweet". I followed directions and used all ingredients specified except for the white pepper. Thought that I would like this because I DO like She-Crab soup. Nope.

Chicken Pesto Paninis

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
I made my modifications based on the other reviews. I used one small focciaca bread and one ciabatta, putting a small amount of pesto on one side and cream cheese on the other. I didn't have time to roast my red bell, but sauteed with red onion. Because I ran short on time from the day of grocery shopping, I took advantage of canned chicken. Was excellent.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
I was looking for a pumpkin cookie my sister used to make years ago, and this was the closest I found. I tried them iced, and I didn't care for it (even though I have a huge sweet tooth). These are very sticky and difficult to make look pretty. Also found that when undercooking them, they stay moist longer.

Balsamic-Glazed Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
Did not care for this recipe. The Balsamic flavor was very overpowering.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
I rated this a five star, because my very picky carb-i-vore toddler loved the meat. I didn't even ask her to try it, it was gone before she even touched her mashed potatoes! Based on other reviews and previous experienced with pot roasts, I browned my tri tip on the stove, removed, then added half of a thinly sliced onion to the pan to saute. Added the onion to the mixture about 30 minutes later.

Pesto Cheesy Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
Very filling recipe. Pounded out chicken and used light homemade breadcrumbs on one side. Used 2 tablespoons of pesto per breast, sub'd Havarti cheese (last 10 min), and cooked flat. I have never used pesto in the oven before, so I was unaware how greasy the chicken would be. Still good though.

Thai Pork with Peanut Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
This was really good, much better than the Thai restaurant down the street (and cheaper too!). I had a lingering single bone in chop, that I cut into chunks. I also used half a chicken breast (cooking in seperate pans). I did not bother with the red bell since they are so expensive, and used several packets of McDonalds sundae peanut's that I saved. I also used 1/2 tsp chicken bullion in the 1/3 cup water. Can't wait to find an excuse to make again!

KELLOGG'S* RICE KRISPIES* Crab and Shrimp Appetizer Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
Wishing I had a food processor. I sub'd imitation crab, regular mayo and rice chex. My balls never browned in the oven, not sure if it was due to the change in cereal?? After 18 minutes, threw them in a pan with light olive oil and crispied them right up. Everyone thought that sauce was ok, I don't care for mustard and it was a little mustardy for my taste.

Tuna Patties with Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
Tasted great. I used smashed potato instead of the parsnips. Didn't have the patience to collect the 1 1/2 teaspoon lemon rind, but I did my best. I also cooked on the stove half the time, and stuck it in an oven for 10 minutes at 300 degrees while I was waiting for everything else to finish.

Pear Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
Followed other reviews advice and left off the topping and let the pears cook without it for a while. Put the topping on the last 15 minutes. I was disappointed when the pears were still crunchy. Also didn't need to use 6 pears, I have about one and a half cut up with the sugar stuff all over, that I need to figure out what to do with it.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
Followed other reviews and double the "sauce." Can't imagine the pot pie with only half the "sauce", would be too dry. Used pre-made pie crust in pan, needed to cook for 50 minutes at 425F.

Chocolate Cupcakes

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
Used a reviewers advise and melted butter instead of creaming. Cupcakes were hard to remove from greased muffin pan. Not very flavorful, and added frosting to save them. The next day it was a hockey puck.

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2008
I thought that the batter seemed really thick and fluffy after cooked. Next time I will try to put less on. BF thought the batter was the best homemade one he ever had. The sauce is really, really good and I think makes the taco,

Love these carrots! This is my side dish when I serve Sweet and Sour Chicken. I always cook the carrots until tender, like 30 minutes.

Easy Spiced Brown Rice With Corn

Good simple recipe. I add a bit more cumin for more flavor. I usually make this rice with chicken satay (a night that i will be eating by myself).
