Classic Texas Caviar

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
I made this as an appetizer for a Mom's Night Out. Some of my friends are vegan, so this was perfect. Served with corn tortilla chips. Followed recipe to the "t".

Best Peanut Butter Cookies Ever

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
I have a new peanut butter cookie recipe! Definitely a Kepper! These were super easy and very easy to make. I didn't grease the cookie sheets and they didn't stick at all. I used half extra crunchy and half creamy organic peanut butter. It's very important to let them cool for 5 min as the instructions indicate as they are very soft right out of the oven.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

I used old fashioned oatmeal, and added a cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips with everything else. The kids tried talking me into letting them have them for breakfast the next morning. A keeper!

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
I added 2 sliced green onions and a clove of garlic to the mix along with a pinch of 5 Spice Powder. This is also a great way to use up leftover white rice! I've added shrimp and diced cooked chicken to this as well. Also, the packaged chinese bbq pork from the supermarket is excellent diced up in this!

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
I made the crust exactly as stated. I don't think I would change anything next time except cook it 5 minutes longer on the lower rack. This seemed to help with any sticking issues. I also used a nonstick cookie sheet so it was extra thin and crispy like we like it. I will make this anytime kids want pizza and I am out of yeast. No one said anything about it being different; they were all too busy eating.

Tina's Shortbread Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
Really nice for my shortbread craving. I used salted butter and omitted salt; used milk chocolate chips (on hand) and cooked for 22 minutes at designated temp. Will definitely use this recipe again. Maybe butterscotch chips next time!

Homemade Pancake Syrup

This was perfect. I will never buy store bought syrup again! Left overs (although there wasn't much) reheated nicely.

Really Good. I left out the jalapeno because of the little ones, and cooked it for 5 hours.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Loved it! The leftover au jus makes awesome onion soup!!! (as suggested). I Added a spoonful of fresh minced garlic, and used 1/4 cup soy sauce because we were out of beer.

Sauteed Swiss Chard with Parmesan Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2008
Oh Man!!! This was GOOD! First time trying swiss chard, and there were no leftovers. Even the kids ate it! I fried up 2 slices of chopped up bacon with the olive oil/butter mixture and cooked the onions a little longer than called for in the recipe and the carmelized flavor gave it a nice depth. Also, I threw in about a half a cup of minced carrots with the onions because they were going to go bad in the fridge if I didn't. So I added the garlic after the onions and carrot were happy so it didn't burn. I will use this recipe again and again!!!

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
Excellent. HOWEVER, I DO NOT take the time to stuff them into muffin cups. I line them up on a large baking sheet. I found that when I tried stuffing them into the muffin cups they rose (popped up) right out of the muffin cups. Better to place them on a cookie sheet IMO. DELICIOUS!!!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

I forgot to add (like other users) cook the bird UPSIDE down (breast side down) for most of the time. I turn mine up the last 20 minutes or so, but I bake it at a higher temp. I would suggest cooking it breast side down no matter at what temp, just give it time once you turn it to get an appetizing color.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
This is a family favorite! BUT, I never have had luck rolling the dough out. I always get too many air bubbles. I just cut the dough in two and shape each mound into a respectable looking "baguette". Cooks perfectly, no need to add those steps.

Gingery Fish Kabobs

Yummy. I was lazy and fried it up in my wok as a stir-fry. Added water chestnuts and sliced bell pepper and served over rice. Won't know if leftovers reheat well because Hubby and kids devoured it.

Chicken Bog

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2006
This is really good. I didn't use Italian Seasoning, but I did use Old Bay, minced garlic, and linguica sausage. I also used chicken breasts that I baked covered with bacon for extra flavor instead of boiling, and then crumbled and sprinkled the cooked bacon over each serving and passed the fresh ground pepper and sea salt. Served with buttermilk biscuits.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2006
This recipe was good. I used chocolate pudding mix, mint chips and added a little bit of peppermint extract. I didn't add the salt and they were fine. I sprinkled them with sugar as soon as they came out of the oven. Will use this recipe again. Thanks for the pudding mix idea.
