About this Cook
Came over here from Luxembourg on my own at 19 - just for a year to improve my English!!! But about 6 months in I met my husband and the rest is history! We will be married 40 years this December! The picture on here is of my faithful "MAC", a beautiful British Shorthair, who is the most lovable little guy in the World. He follows me around the house and talks to me when I cook.
My favorite things to cook
Enjoy making soups: Bean, Lentil, chicken/veggie, all the good winter soups Also make a pretty good Chili Meatloaf (I put Salsa in it)and if you read the little story on the bottom, yes my meatloaf is VERY good these days!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
One I miss: New Years Day "Choucroute Alsacienne" - Sauerkraut with smoked meats and hot dogs and mashed potatoes! St. Nicolas Day December 6 Christmas with Family And of course Thanksgiving w/ Family
My cooking triumphs
My latest is a French Apple Dessert I converted for diabetic consumption! I found it on another website and adjusted it
My cooking tragedies
The first meal I ever made for my new husband: In Luxembourg they make a stuffed Veal loaf w/ egg in it and serve cold.(it is a lunch meat) Well, I adapted a meatloaf and put two eggs in it (hard boiled)and to make it really "special" I added cheese on top. You're probably thinking, WHAT???? I say that too NOW!!!!! We went out to eat that night and lucky for my husband my cooking skills improved a lot. He's still here after 40 years!!! HAHAHA!

Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding
Tried this and used Splenda for sugar, it came out great, we loved it. Worked like a charm, great without the sauce, especially after it settles for a day!!!
