About this Cook
I have two small children who are my main reason for cooking! I love to make a good meal for my family that they enjoy.
My favorite things to cook
Breads and pies Anything simple and delicious
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember making Christmas cookies as a child, but other than that my mother was a horrible cook and I strive to better in the kitchen than her...she brags about my cooking all the time
My cooking triumphs
I make wonderful country style collard greens, every family occasion they are requested and any dessert that I make.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I tried making meatloaf it did not work out...it was horrible, but it was all we had to eat that night and I felt terrible watching my family try to stomach it.

Baked Chicken on Rice
This dish was ok. I took some of the other reviews advice and only used 2 cups of milk. I didn't have any dry onion soup mix so I used dry vegatable soup mix (just one). It took longer to cook to get the rice done. The rice was very yummy when finished. But, the chicken was bland and sorta dry. Oldest son liked the chicken, youngest son liked the rice. Hubby said overall it was "ok." To be honest that's just fine with me, at least it was something different from my standard menu. It was easy to fix and decent to eat....
