I am married and have 3 children and work full-time. When growing up, becoming a wife and mother, I loved to cook and was very good at it! But as the kids got busier cooking turned into a "chore". Now that they are older I am finding more time to cook and experiment in the kitchen and it's not a "chore" anymore! I'd have to say my specialty is Mexican! Also, anything out of my friends and family recipe book that I got at my wedding shower! I love all those tried and true recipes! Chili on Halloween Night. I make a batch and put it in the slow cooker to simmer all day. Then the kids have something warm in their tummys before trick or treating or they have something warm to eat when they get home! Everyone has a favorite topping to add... crushed doritos, shredded cheese, sour cream, hot sauce - yum! No blue ribbons or anything, because I've never entered anything into a contest, but I'm ALWAYS getting requests to bring some favorites to Holiday gatherings, potlucks, etc. No one even cares if it is a tried and true recipe - they are my guinea pigs and they love it! No tragedies yet :-)
