About this Cook
Grew up helping Mom and Grandma in the kitchen. Starting cooking young. Loved grilled cheese with onions, grilled peanut butter with onions(don't knock it 'til you try it! Use vadalias!)and good ol' macaroni with tomatoes! When I left home to start life on my own, my adventures with cooking really began to take off. An old electric BBQ that smoked terribly lent flavour to the best lemon pepper chicken I have ever made....(that won me my husband!) Now, married and a Mom of two, I enjoy cooking everything from fun kid's lunches to exotic foreign fare for intimate get togethers.
My favorite things to cook
Turkey dinner with all the fixin's!!!! Nothing says Christmas like the smell of turkey in the oven (use the Awesome Cranberry & Sausage Stuffing recipe on this site!) I make the best Nachos on the planet according to husband and friends....however they are shamefully high in calories....only have once in a blue moon! Still searching for the ultimate Chocolate Chip cookie recipe for school day lunches... BBQ steak and garlic shrimp is another specialty of mine.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our tradition is to talk about food while eating food....never fails! We are the only family who gets increasingly hungry while eating a meal!lol! We all get together a couple of weeks before Christmas to bake cookies with all of the little ones in the family! We go out to cut our own Christmas tree and return home to mulled cider, roasted chestnuts and a piping hot bowl of potatoe and leek soup! (Dad's recipe)
My cooking triumphs
My first turkey dinner.....turned out perfect. The flavours of the bird and the complimenting side dishes were amazing. ALL of the recipes I used were found on this site! The only dinner I have managed to duplicate to a "T" year after year!
My cooking tragedies
I haven't had any...YET... I would love to attempt deep frying a turkey this fall but fear I may end up on YOUTUBE in another exloding turkey video!!!lol!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies
I was drooling when I made these...the spicey smell is incredible. Sure, they were a little sticky, but once you drop them into the sugar they coat up nice enough to roll. I, too, glazed these with icing sugar glaze and sprinkled with tiny orange pumpkin sprinkles for Hallowe'en this week! (Hallowe'en is Friday, today is Tuesday...hmmmm...might have to make another batch before then as I don't think this batch will last that long!) Thanx for an outstanding cookie recipe! LUV 'EM!!!!!

Banana Crumb Muffins
I found a package of Banana Muffin Mix in the cupboard and whipped them up and added this crumble topping.....super easy, super delicious and the topping made the muffins look so home-made~wink! Next time, I will make the whole recipe from scratch as I imagine it will be phenominal! Thanks so much for this recipe.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken
Thank you so much for this recipe! I followed it to a "T" with adding a few more cloves of garlic and it turned out wonderfully! My 9 and 2 yr. old both loved it and I will be making this chicken again very soon for company! It is a bit rich so serving with a big mixed green salad would be a good idea. Yummers!
