Hi my name is Christina and I love to cook. Whether I'm cooking for myself, my husband, family or entertaining, I truly get lots of satisfation out of it.
My favorite things to cook
Gosh there is so much! I do love to cook hungarian goulash with german spaetzle.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My father is Hungarian and my mother is Austrian. Growing up as a young child suppertime was the best time of the day. My mother wasn't much of a breakfast or lunch type of person. My mother still to this day has not conformed to North American type cooking. She has been is this country for 54 years and still uses the same German and Hungarian cookbook. My mother does not own one single English cookbook. And if she was given cookbooks over the years they ended up at the Thrift Shop. Cooking traditions or I call it favorites I inherited from my mother are: Poppy Seed Squares, Cream of Wheat Dumpling Soup, Goulash and Paprika Chicken, Walnut and Poppyseed Kipflin and many other favorites!
My cooking triumphs
Poppy seed squares. Cream of Wheat dumpling soup. Slow cooker pot roast and chewy chocolate chip cookies.
My cooking tragedies
I'm just not a brownie master. I try over and over again but my brownies are always mushy in the middle. One day I'll get it right! hehehe
