I'm not too sad about it because our fall garden's thriving and, frankly, I'm sick of picking beans, okra and tomatoes. The house smells incredible this morning: I'm roasting more tomatoes from the garden. We planted our fall garden a week ago. Keeping it simple and more manageable than our still overflowing spring/summer crop. We have a huge garden this year as we now live in the country and have plenty of space to grow enough veggies to feed an small army, or sell at the farmer's market. About Me
I come from a family of incredible cooks. My grandma cooked professionally all of her life. My mom and her four sisters have the gift, too. I'm a self-employed landscaper who hopes one day soon to turn my love of cooking into a professional enterprise.
My favorite things to cook
I love "ethnic" cuisine, especially Thai, Greek, Vietnamese, Indian. I enjoy making hearty roasts and soups in the winter and using my organic, homegrown veggies in the summer in all kinds of dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Christmas cookies with my daughter.
My cooking triumphs
Making a picture-perfect Buche de Noel, Christmas 1998; catering the desserts for a downtown jazz/coffee night -- it was a success, and all the desserts were vegan.
My cooking tragedies
Meatloaf...I can't seem to make a decent one. Now, that's a tragedy!
