Work at home dad since 2005. I took 2 cooking classes in college way back in 1984, which were necessary for my major (Hotel & Restaurant Mgmt). However, I hated cooking at the time and so I forgot everything I learned. It wasn't until recently that I have gained an affection for cooking. I enjoy cooking for people and trying new recipes on them.
My favorite things to cook
I love to grill. Ribs are my specialty. But I'd cook anything as long I was outside with a cold beer.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making them now
My cooking triumphs
1. Crawfish Chowder
2. Carrot Soup
3. Cooking outside for 2 weeks after Hurricane Ike shut off our power. I grilled a leg of Lamb, a pork loin, frozen pizza, corn dogs, etc. I grilled everything in our freezer, and it was great!
My cooking tragedies
The Halibut Symphony, I believe the recipe is. I served the fish practically raw...and it was for company! Not only that, but I made a cold cucumber soup (TERRIBLE!) and some type of rice (under cooked). I mean... the whole meal took for every to prepare, and it was HORRIBLE!
