Salmon with Caramelized Leeks

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
I am so glad I found this recipe because I've always wanted to learn more ways to incorporate leeks into our meals. This is such an easy and tasty way! The leeks were oh so tender and if it weren't for this recipe I would have never known how to do that. Mine always end up gritty, but not now! Thanks, I'll use this method often.

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
This is a fabulous recipe. I added a can of condensed cheddar cheese soup along with a layer of spinach (as we normally do with casserole dishes). Other than mine turning out a little too wet for my taste, it was excellent. I am sure that was my fault due to the soup addition.

Red Bean 'N' Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
All around good meal, the guys really enjoyed it. I increased the amount of sage for more of an earthy vibe. It was a nice break from all the spicy dishes we usually make. I threw all these ingredients into a crock pot and let everyone eat from it all weekend. Definitely a winter thing.

Vanilla - Chocolate Powdered Sugar Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
It's pretty basic and pretty sweet! Mine was a bit thin but it worked out great as I was just looking to drizzle something on our brownies. Added a hint of peppermint extract for that Christmas touch.

Cranberry Apple-Nut Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
Wow, this is way too sweet. Every bite was crunchy sugar, crystal-like for lack of a better term. And the almonds (which are normally a hit with me) didn't work well with this, the texture was distracting. There's too much going on in this pie and though my boyfriend tolerated it, I won't be making it again. Sorry!

Smoky Steak Marinade

We let our frozen chicken breasts sit in this marinade all day and cut them up into strips before baking. Wonderful! Thanks! We will use this marinade often.

Sweet Potato Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
Perfect amount of spices in this pie, and the sweet potatoes work well with the pecans. We didn't go out of our way to buy the hazelnut liqueur and it was still fantastic with just the whipped topping. I'll probably surprise my boyfriend with another one of these once Christmas arrives.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread II

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
I used shortening as directed as I am none to bothered with it, I actually like what it does for recipes. I don't use it often but it seems that it's in some of the best dessert recipes from this site. I think there's something to be said for shortening. "Here, here", lol. Good bread, better the next day. I'm sure I'll make it again.

Salmon with Creamy Dill Sauce

The sauce deserves more than 5 stars, my boyfriend requests it every single time we have fish now. Add capers and you won't be disappointed.

No Mayo Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
Put it on a bed of spinach and eat as a "salad" (hence the name of this thing) if you have a hard time keeping the ingredients together. If you're goal is eating healthier you could skip the bread anyhow.

Baked Parmesan Perch

This is a good seasoning for fish, I'll continue to use it with other types in the future. I substituted corn flake crumbs in place of bread crumbs out of personal preference.

Ham, Basil, and Feta Scrambled Eggs

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
Though I like all the flavors this has to offer it was just average for me. I'd rather make an omelet with these ingredients so the tastes are recognized better. Scrambling did nothing for this dish. Despite my review, we ate every single bite.

Add your cheese when the eggs are nearly done, the taste gets lost when mixed with everything else.

OREO® Chocolate Cream Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
Decadent & sinful, I love it. Anything that incorporates Oreo chocolate creams gets my vote. I layered a mixture of sour cream & sugar on top of the cheesecake & scattered almond bark shavings all over the plate. Looks fantastic.

Creamy Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
I noticed how many suggested cutting back on the cream cheese but I went for it, I used the entire amount it calls for only because I was planning on using a 9x13 dish. Turned out rather well. I added a small caramelized red onion into the broccoli mixture and it also turned out great. I'll make this again but not too often as it's not the healthiest way to serve up broccoli.
