Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
I have to give this recipe a 5 star although it was not one of my favorites but I don't care for cooked apples and have never been a fan of apple pie. I made this for my husband and he loved it! I only used 4 apples instead of 8 and two of them were golden delicious. I think next time I will try all red delicious because the Granny Smith apples were way too sour for this recipe (especially for me). But it had great flavor and held together really well!

Chicken Stuffed Chiles

This was really tasty and I actually enjoyed it better the next day. I think the type of enchilada sauce that you use really makes or brakes the dish. I used the canned stuff but think I was to try the dry packet next time.

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2007
This recipe was pretty good! Next time I definately want to add Cilantro though. Also I used left over chicken from a whole chicken that I roasted the day before. Instead of tortilla strips and shredded cheese on top, I cooked a quesadilla with Monterey Jack cheese and then dipped it into the soup. Now that was tasty and my husband raved over the quesadilla soaked in soup!! Thanks!

Mmmmmm...I liked this recipe. I sauted the chicken breast in butter first which adds some fat but it makes it taste sooooo good. I only used carrots and finely chopped celery.

Fruit Pizza II

This was an easy and tasty dessert! I did use one jar of Marshmellow cream in replace of the whip cream and thought that was a much better way to go. I also did it in a 9 x 9 square baking dish which used less fruit but had a nice think crust!! The glaze was awesome!! Very yummy stuff!!

Enchilada Casserole III

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2007
This recipe was good but it did need more sauce. I will double the sauce next time as I ran out on my very top layer plus the extra sauce in the meat would make it much more tasty. I also added a can of green chilies to the meat mixture.

Rugelach

I am totally bummed about this recipe because I had sooo many problems with it. First of all it says to mix the ingredients with a food processor which I assumed that a blender would work, it absolutely will not! It only mixed the bottom half which became very sticky and thick while the top half was still powdery. After mixing it by hand I formed my disks then chilled them overnight. When I tryed to roll them they just cracked leaving gaps all over the place and the more I rolled to try to smooth out the gaps, the less manageable the dough became. I ended up with less than 10 cookie from 2 disks and threw the other two away. Maybe I am just a really inexperienced baker but this recipe was vey difficult for me.

I really liked this recipe but had to add more boullion because it just did not have enough flavor for me...but after I did it was great and my husband loved it too!

This soup was delicious!!! The changes I made were only to make it healthier but not tastier...I used 1% milk and it still came out nice and thick and I also used diced ham instead of bacon. Yummy!!

This dish was so stinkin good! I used Pecans instead of Walnuts but next time I think I will try using oats in place of the nuts because I just don't care for them.

Creamy White Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
This is a pretty good recipe. I did what other reviewers suggested and cut the salt in half, added some italian seasoning and a clove of garlic. The only problem that I had (which was completely my fault) was I accidentally used SWEET cream....BIG MISTAKE. Other than that, I served it over angel hair pasta, zucchini, squash and topped with broiled chicken...Delicious!

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
This was very delicious moist bread but here is what I did differently. Subbed half of the oil for no sugar added applesauce, used splenda instead of white sugar and used half white flour and half whole wheat flour. I also used pumpkin pie spice instead of the others but next time I make it I will use the recomended spices....LOVED IT!

Muenster Chicken and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2006
This recipe was great! I am giving it a 4 because I changed some things as well. I used egg instead of milk and cream of chicken instead of broth but I added some water to it so it was not so thick. Next time I will use thinner chicken breast because they had to cook for about 40 minutes before they were done. Also next time, i will probably double up on the cheese! Thanks!

Garlic Chicken

Great recipe, I used the foil suggestion and covered the chicken with foil for the first 15 minutes of baking. The only thing that I would do differently next time is slice the chicken breast in half so they are not so thick. Thanks!
