About this Cook
I have been married to my husband, Brian for 18 years. Our son is 15 & our daughter is 12. We live right down the street from our church, where once a week I cook for 75-90 people. I love it, I feel like I'm hosting a party every week. We also live about 2 hours away from the town where they publish Taste of Home, so I visit there often to add to my cookbook collection.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking big Italian dinners, even though there's not a drop of Italian blood in me! I also enjoy making yeast bread with an old recipe of my Mom's that makes 3 loaves so I can share.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies are my favorite tradition. When I was little, my Mom would bake dozens of different kinds & pass them out to everyone & I try to do the same.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumph is definitely at church, getting the family style dinners all on the tables, on time, then having everyone tell me how much they enjoyed it afterwards.
My cooking tragedies
My main tragedy is never getting a turkey to cook in the time I think it will! Many a holiday dinner has been held up because we're waiting for me to get the turkey out!

Cajun Crab Soup
Delicious soup & so easy to make! My 14 year old daughter has been making this for the family for several years & we all love it! It is so creamy & has just the right amount of heat!

Tex-Mex Burger with Cajun Mayo
Awesome burger! Just the right amount of heat & loved the mayo. I didn't have a fresh jalapeno so I chopped about a dozen pickled jalapeno slices and they were great!

Zucchini Jelly
This jelly was delicious! I used strawberry jello & will try orange on my next batch. I followed the recipe exactly & I only got 8 pint jars but I'm new at canning so maybe I overfilled the jars??
