Potato Sloppy Joe Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
This was a hit w/my entire family (2 boys & hubby)! I needed a week nite dinner w/out running to the grocery. I had these ingredients on hand. Delicious! It didn't sound as good as it turned out! I used shredded hash brown potatoes because that's what we had! Everything else was according to recipe - no changes! Thanks for a recipe that everyone said is a "do again"!

Chrissy's Sweet 'n' Sour Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2009
My husband and I loved this! I used yellow tomatoes from my garden and added some cucumbers, too! It made such a nice, refreshing salad and was a great way to use up those tomatoes in a different way. Thanks for the recipe!

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2009
My entire family LOVED this and decided it's a "do again"! It was filling and nobody noticed we didn't have meat, which is incredible as we tend to have meat at dinner. I pretty much followed the recipe exactly; however, I used shredded Parmesan (not grated), as that was what I had. Delicious!! Thanks!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
I thought these were delicious. I'm giving them 4 stars because my son, who LOVES blueberry muffins and is 13 didn't really eat very many. I followed the recipe. The topping was a bit sweet. Overall very good.

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
This was great! I used shells and precooked bacon (which I microwaved and put in the fridge in a ziploc). I mixed the crisp bacon in and then crumbled it in top right before serving. Definitely a do again recipe!

Easy Apple Strudel

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
I made this w/my son for a project he did on Austria to take in to his class (and one to have at home). It was delicious! We each made our own bowl. He made his w/less raisins because the kids at school don't like them but I followed the recipe. I have to admit, although I adore raisins, the recipe calls for too many and it was actually better w/fewer. I'll use less next time. Also, we did add a little cinnamon per others suggestions. I think this recipe needs it. W/those two changes I rated it 5 stars. It was easy and delicious!

Austrian Chocolate Balls

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
We just made this for my son's class project (had to make something Austrian since he studied Austria). Wow! Easy to make - I supervised my 12 year old and we followed the recipe exactly. Our dough was very dry and I was worried if we had done something wrong. They came out delicious, though! We'll make these again as most of the cookies are going in to his class.

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
This was very good. The only change I made was that I doubled the soup/milk mixture because my children love gravy/sauces and I was afraid it would be a bit dry otherwise. It was the right thing to do because there wasn't too much. Everyone enjoyed it and my husband and one son who is 12 had seconds. Even my youngest son said it was a "do again"!

Chicken Breast Stuffed with Spinach Blue Cheese and Bacon

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
This was very good. I made two breasts w/blue cheese for my husband and me and the other two w/kid friendly cheeses that I had (something tamer) for the kids. Both turned out good. My hubby and I thought this was great the kids just liked. There was extra stuffing, so as other readers suggested, I put on top and that just made it better. Also, I did add a bit of cream cheese because the mixture seemed dry (others had suggested). This made it!

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Delicious! I used some heavy cream and regular cream. My entire family (two boys, ages 9 and 11) enjoyed it! This would also work with plain old ground beef. Thanks for a delightful recipe.

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
This was awesome! Because I didn't have self rising flour, I also followed previous suggestions and added 1 Tbsp. baking powder and 1 tsp. salt. I also added 1/3 cup sugar and melted butter on top before baking. Lastly, I let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes before putting in the oven. It came out like bread from a fine restaurant and my family loved it. My boys helped me prepare it. Yummy!

I liked the sour cream as an alternative filler but I did not care for the rice in the quiche. My husband ate it but agreed.

Banana Banana Bread

I thought this recipe was good. However it was not the best banana bread I have ever had. I used it because I had these ingredients on hand. Good if that's what you have and need to use up.

Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2007
My family loved this and my kids asked for me to make it again! I did not put the capers in for the kids - only for my husband and myself. I also doubled the cream sauce for us because we like a lot of it! Delicious!

Meat Loaf Pie

I have now made this many times for my family and they all love it! I've used both store bought and homemade mashed potatoes and either way is great! I also layered meat, corn then potatoes on top. I used a store bought pastry which was easy and good. Delicious!

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2006
Per previous reviews, I used half sour cream and half mayo. Other than that, I stuck with the recipe. My husband loved it as did I - my children, who are 8 and 10 did not. I will make it again, but only for adults.
