About this Cook
I am a mother of two boys, a 4 year old and a 10 month old. They are my life's little treasures. I am also a devoted wife, supporting my husband while he finishes nursing school. After that, we hope to return to our hometown in Georgia.
My favorite things to cook
I'm not a big meat-eater, but my husband is so I need to work on my main dishes. I get creative with the side dishes and breakfast is always fun, and I love baking desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Breakfast has always been my favorite family meal at my parent's house. And of course, holidays (Thanksgiving). As a wife and mom I try to make every dinner a family tradition, and I have a husband who thanks me for everything I do.
My cooking triumphs
Every successful meal is a triumph no matter how simple. But a few personal favorites...I made a chocolate mousse when I was in high school, I conquered an Angelfood cake for my sister's birthday, and I perfected my mother-in-law's potato salad (one of my husband's favorite dishes). Some thrifty triumphs during my college years were government chicken pot pie, shepherd's pie, and a Ramen-spaghetti pasta dish that served 6 guests with a side of Earl-Gray iced tea. I'm proud of that one!
My cooking tragedies
I am a host by nature, so making my guests feel comfortable and at home is a must. I don't think I have any "tragedies" per say, but I've had disappointments. I attempted a tuna saute thing with eggplant that was awful, my husband still ate it (what a wonderful man).

Valentino's Pizza Crust
This was just a little different from another crust I make but my husband said it was harder to manipulate. Is there not a recipe out there for a crust that can be tossed? Tasted great though!

Veggie Pot Pie
I used this as a basis for my pot pie. I used chicken broth since that's all I had and after all, the purpose of pot pie is to make one big meal out of lots of little things left over. I used a biscuit topping and this was a big hit! Thanks
