Ive been happily married for 42 years. the mother of three children (all married) Grandmother of 8. just recently blessed with a granddaughter on 9-6-06) I work part-time 3 days a week, and baby sit for my daughter the other two days. I love to travel, when time permits. my husband will be retiring next May and hopefully we will have time to travel a bit more. I enjoy cooking, watching my grandchildren in all of their sport events. Keeps us busy and young. Love the holidays when we all get together as a family.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are recipes that have been either passed on thru the family or from cook books passed on from local churches etc. One of my favorites is my "pierogi recipe" and my Kolachky Recipe. These are family favorites, which are requested when we have our family gatherings.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I would say my favorite family cooking tradition would be the "Pierogi Recipe" that I entered for this contest. This recipe has been passed on from my grandmother, to her daughter(My mother) to me and on to my own daughter now. Hopefully tradition will live on in our own family.
My cooking triumphs
I don't know if I I really have any cooking triumphs. If I could pick one it would be my Kolachky Recipe. I've been making them for years, but when the recipe is tried by others, they always come back and say,"they just don't like yours".
My cooking tragedies
The only tragedy I had was when we were first married and I tried to make a pot roast dinner. It turned out very dry and chewy. I guess we all learn from our tragedies. As they say" practice makes perfect"
