About this Cook
I enjoy learning, whether it be about myself, others, or life. I love my family and serving them. It is all I want in this life, to be a great wife and mother.
My favorite things to cook
DESSERTS! But I am also broadening my horizons and learning to cook real food as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The holidays, baking and eating. There is nothing better than baking tasty holiday treats with family. Okay, there is, EATING the treats!
My cooking triumphs
I made my first bread from scratch. It was a lot of work but I thought the results were not bad for a first timer.
My cooking tragedies
My first gravey when I was a newly wed turned out to be jello. I was pregnant and ended up vomiting just with the sight of it. Needless to say, I didn't make gravy again until 6 years later, now I can make gravy rather well, if I do say so myself.

Broccoli Chowder
I should first forewarn that I made a lot of variations, never even followed this recipe once, so I don't know what it tastes like origianally. It sounded way to bland for my and my family's palate. I made it for serving 8 (I have a family of 4 and we only had one serving left, which I took to work the next day). Instead of water I used beef broth. Added 2 tsp of minced garlic 1T of diced dehydrated onion (don't use fresh, my preferrance) Omitted salt Couple shakes of red pepper flakes Omitted black pepper Omitted nutmeg For the sauce to stir in at the end I... Used 2 cups milk rather than the 2-2/3 that it called for(remember I made the soup to serve 8) I wanted a thicker sauce to stir in, the soup looked thin I added the cheese to the sauce and extra at that, and it turned out just like a rich cheese sauce. Then I poured the cheese sauce into the soup and stirred. My soup turned out FANTASTIC. My whole family loved it, leaving only one serving for left overs. I will make again, and again, and again. We served with bread, it made for a nice warm filling meal.

Beef Stroganoff II
This was the best I have ever made. I did not use onion. Instead I sliced up 4 gloves of garlic (it is not over powering or hot) and put them in with the cooking meat. I LOVE GARLIC. I also followed the others and added milk, but did not measure mine, just to what looked good. I did not use fat free sour cream, if you are going to eat good food, EAT GOOD FOOD! There is just something about fat free! Like said, go to the gym the next day and work extra hard. I also did a couple splashes of worchestershire sauce. TASTY!

Cranapana Bread
My husbands favorite bread was banana bread up until we had this. He said it is his new favorite. We bake them in Pampered Chef's mini loaf stone and add a few Baker's Choco Chunks to the batter. I also grease and sugar the pan. It is definately a SWEET bread, so don't think of it as a breakfast bread or even a healthy bread. It just tastes so good.
