Italian Wedding Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
I was not a huge fan, but my son loved it. I followed others' suggestions and used some beef broth, cooked the meatballs prior to putting them in the crock pot, and cooked the orzo in a separate pot. This did not taste nearly as good as the soup I had at a restaurant.

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
Very good. I followed others' comments and doubled the dressing. Since some people commented on the oil taste, I used half olive oil and half canola oil

Buffalo Chicken Dip

This was excellent and will become a party staple. I followed someone else's suggestion and used 1/2c ranch and 1/2 c blue cheese dressing

Joel's Jerk Chicken Pineapple Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
This was very good and different from my normal faire. I followed others' comments and only added 1/4 tsp of cinnamon, added a red pepper and an onion, and served it over rice. Also, I don't know if it was my seasoning mix, which was the Pampered Chef Jamaican Jerk Rub, but it was plenty spicy without the red pepper flakes.

Lemon Cream Pasta with Chicken

Reviewed: May 27, 2009
My family loved this. My only issue was with the amount of black pepper - I used 1/2 tsp, and that was still quite a bit. I also used a covered stone baker to bake the chicken in the microwave in 7 minutes - it make for much quicker preparation.

Easy Slow Cooker Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
This was OK. I didn't think it had too much flavor, and I did add wine and seaasonings to the sauce. It was easy though, and I liked the fact that I did all of the prep in the morning and came home to a cooked dinner.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
I thought that this was OK. I followed others comments and spread the beans on the tortillas, which I think helped the overall recipe. That said, I didn't think it was that great. I wouldn't make it again.

Spicy Glazed Pecans

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
These were EXCELLENT and really easy. I have another recipe that is much more complicated. I followed others' comments and added 1/2 tsp salt and only used 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper because my family does not like spicy food. Also, I would recommend spraying the aluminum foil with cooking spray.

Busy Day Barbeque Brisket

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2008
This was OUTSTANDING. My lowly bottled BBQ sauce ended up tasting like something from a BBQ joint when mixed with the meant juices and seasonings. My entire family loved it, and it was so easy. Thanks for a fantastic crock pot recipe!

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
This was sooo easy and sooo good. After reading the reviews, I added cream of mushroom soup, used only half of a packet of italian seasoning mix, and substituted low fat sour cream for half of the cream cheese (and I used 1/3 less fat cream cheese). I think it would have been too thick with the entire block of cream cheese. It was really rich and very tasty. I served it over egg noodles, and both of my young kids loved it too. My 5 year old son said it was the best thing that I had ever cooked!

Becca's Taco Soup

This was easy and very tasty. I didn't realize that it only called for half of the taco seasoning packet, and I used the entire packet - I think it definitely needs the entire packet.

Mexican Style Shredded Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
I agree with everyone else - this was excellent and SUPER easy. It makes a great burrito filling. I wasn't sure what to buy for the Chipotle sauce, so I would put out there for others that Tabasco makes a Chipotle sauce in a jar just like their Tabasco Sauce. I found it near the ketchup, BBQ sauces, and bottled marinades.

I thought that this had a good traditional hummus taste. I used the author's updated version to include cumin instead of pepper.

Lieblich Noodle Kugel

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2007
Although the kugel tasted very good, the noodles, fruit, and cottage cheese never bound together in the way that I think of when I think of kugel. I used whole wheat noodles, but I wouldn't think it would make a difference. Who knows. In any case, I wouldn't make this again and would look for something with more of what I consider to be the traditional kugel consistency.

French Toast Souffle

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
This was good - nout outstanding, but good. I made this instead of another recipe I like because my husband doesn't like really really sweet food, at least for breakfast. Based on everyone's comments, I only used 6 eggs, and I used a little extra maple syrup. I would make it again. I think that I just saw this exact recipe in my Best of Cooking Light.

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
I agree with everyone else - this was REALLY good. I might use a little less sugar next time because I usually buy the "natural" applesauce, but it was really good (and not too sweet) with the 1/4 cup of sugar.
