About this Cook
I've been cokking for eons. I love it. I cook new dishes a lot and shae recipes with friends. Have mountains of saved recipes and cookbooks. My Mom, Sisters,Neices, and Daughter are also great cooks. They have contributed to my cooking skills.
My favorite things to cook
Old-fashioned good food. Lots of old ethnic favorites and many new favs. Don't like baking as much as cooking. I like to strike out and completely new areas of cooking or with totally unfamiliar foods. It's fun to learn.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving dinner. We have always made a big deal out of it. We feel to continue traditions, even in modified versions is an important part of who we are and where we've come from.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to can. Learning new recipes and cooking methods.
My cooking tragedies
Don't even ask me about my first experience cooking stewed prunes; no, the wrinkles never do come out. Oh, and what's the difference between a clove of garlic and a bulb of garlic? I can tell you that one , too!

Carrot Casserole
I needed to use up my home canned carrots. So quick, I did the whole thing in the food processor. I left out cinnamon, used 1/2 teaspoon of ginger instead. Also used 3/4 c. brownd sugar for the white, and 4 oz. light cream cheese for the butter and milk. Had to bake 1 hour. This is really a KEEPER! I love it. Thanks Paula.
