About this Cook
I grew up loving the kitchen. My family owned a food processing & distribution plant, and I have the best memories of the giant machines, ovens, smokers, and coolers.
My favorite things to cook
I love stir-fry's! You can do anything with them. I also enjoy making stews in the slow cooker- coming home at the end of the day to the smell of dinner already done is the best de-stresser. Italian's also a favorite. I love pasta and cheeses!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, my moms favorite ingredients were onions and garlic. Needless to say, I realize now the versatility these two ingredients offer and I use them all the time as well. A few of the most prominent meals I remember are my mom's chili and spaghetti. I'm not sure if I remember it so well because the pot lasted all week, or because they were so good, but both are true.
My cooking triumphs
Keeping my hubby happily fed and content.
My cooking tragedies
It's a toss up; Either when I attempted to cook my Fisher Price breakfast on my mom's stove-top (which she has yet let me live down) or a very failed attempt at pizza dough. Let's just say we picked up a pizza from the local pizza joint that night and my husband had an intense dough ball fight with our neighbor.

Graham Cracker Crust
Very Sweet- I used this crust for a key lime pie and it countered the tartness nicely, but for a sweet pie, I'd recommend less sugar. Measurement wise- one sleeve of graham crackers is perfect.

Raisin Rice Stuffed Chicken
This was great! Since we didn't have raisins, I subbed cherry flavored cranberries, and surprisingly- It was delicious! I was nervous about the cherry flavouring...

Potato Latkes I
Not sure what I did wrong, but these became very greasy throughout the cake... I probably won't be making again.
