About this Cook
I have been cooking since I was 7, learned from the best, my Mom. Watched her cooking and kept a watchful eye on the "key" ingredients, so that I can make the same later. I have 2 kids, a boy and a girl in that order. Happily married since 1997 to a great man. Although he can't boil water,no really he tried once and burned my new kettle, he does enjoy my cooking and is sure to let me know. Cooking for my family is one of the most importanat joys I have in cooking, that way I know they are recieving a great nutricious meal everytime.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook mexican ,since I am hispanic. But I do dabble in a lot of different recipes. Mexican, italian, chinese, asian, gourmet. Since we travel a lot to my husbands town, Sinaloa, Mexico, my mother-in-law, teaches me how to cook all the favorite things my husband ate as a kid and still enjos at home. Most of it is seafood though, but really delicious! Shrimp a la veracruzana is one of the newset recipes we tried together.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite cooking traditions is cooking as a family. I would cook and bake with my mother, and now pass this wonderful tradition to my son and soon to my daughter.(she' only 2 now)
My cooking triumphs
According to my kids it would be my baking, they love my cookies, no matter what kind of cookies, they gobble them up like crazy! But to my husband he loves my cheesecake, i don't care for cheesecake all that much, but he devours the one i make and that is no small feat, it's a pretty big cheesecake! :)
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 12 yrs. old I wanted to surprise my mom with some oatmeal cookies, I was so excited when pulling them out of the oven, To my shock they actually turned to stone, till this day I have no idea what went wrong, and don't go any where near any oatmeal cookie recipes.

Honey Fruit Salad
I really did enjoy this! My son, who really doesn't like to eat alot of fruit, gobbled it up! I did add a tad more lime juice. But it is a refreshing way to eat fruit as a dessert, thanks!
